Theoretically, if the pins of a third-party magnetic switch match the pin configuration of our magnetic keyboards, it can be installed. However, please note the following:
- Pin Matching: The pin configuration and layout of magnetic switches are critical. If the pin specifications are identical, physical installation should not be an issue. However, different brands may have slight pin variations, so you must ensure complete compatibility before installation.
- Precision Issues: Even if the pins match, structural or material differences may lead to imperfect precision alignment. This can affect the responsiveness and stability of the keys.
- IO Driver Compatibility: Our proprietary IO driver is specifically optimized for our brand's magnetic switches. Therefore, we cannot guarantee perfect compatibility with third-party switches. Different brands may have different signal processing requirements, chips, or protocols, which may be incompatible with our driver.
- User Experience: Beyond hardware and driver compatibility, third-party magnetic switches may differ in feel, response speed, and stability. Even if they can be installed, you may experience degraded performance or an inconsistent typing feel.
Summary: While you can try installing third-party magnetic switches, we do not recommend it due to potential precision and driver compatibility issues. For the best user experience, we strongly suggest using original switches designed for our magnetic keyboards.
